About Alzheimer’s Tennessee:
Alzheimer’s Tennessee is a not-for-profit organization founded by Tennessee families and professionals in 1983. The 501(c)(3) organization’s mission is to serve those facing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, to promote brain health through education, and to champion global research, prevention and treatment efforts. Our vision is to Make Alzheimer’s a Memory. Our 24/7 Helpline 800-ALZ-GATEway (800-259-4283) is a gateway for services and resources for those with a diagnoses of Alzheimer’s or related dementias and their caregivers.
Alzheimer’s Tennessee offers many programs for caregivers including workshops and conferences. The conferences provide support and strategies for those living with Alzheimer have and related dementias who often feel overwhelmed and alone. Family caregiver support groups are available as well as AlzShare a telephone forum for support, education and coping strategies. The online Caregiver Academy provides an opportunity for caregivers to view 4 -5 minute engaging, educational and insightful videos led by physicians, gerontologists, nurses, lawyers, social workers and caregivers.
